Title: Oracle DBA
Location: New York City, NY
Skills: Client is a large financial banking service company and are looking for a senior Oracle DBA to join their team. The Oracle Database Administrator must have minimum 8 years Oracle DBA administration experience, problem-solving/analytical skills and advising application development teams, ability to communicate complex technical issues to multiple audiences
Duration: 6 months
A qualified candidate who Support production of database architecture
- Develop procedures, processes, tools and documentation to install, operate, administer, maintain and provision the Oracle database infrastructure
- Major areas of focus include but are not limited to Oracle Database 10g on UNIX platforms
- Analyze performance issues and recommend solutions
- Pro-actively automate routine DBA tasks, devise, execute, document and improve disaster recovery plans
- Heavy Performance Tuning experience is a MUST
- Experience of w/RAC is a MUST
- Assist application developers with writing efficient SQL and train them on the use of database tools, techniques and concepts
- At least 5 years experience in UNIX Korn/Bourne Shell scripting for automation is a must
- Review, recommend, test and implement Oracle application data model creations and/or changes
- Ensuring the high availability, performance and security of the production database
- Tuning at the instance and SQL statement level and supporting the test and development database environments
- Knowledge in Advanced Replication/Materialized Views Partioning DataGuard Streams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic team environment
